National Library Week is an annual celebration generously funded by the Friends of the Carson City Library. National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA). It is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. Traditionally, Carson City Library celebrates National Library Week with a variety of programming along with the culmination of Capital City Reads, a community-wide reading project.
Carson City Library also participates in the annual Nevada Reads, an all-state-community group read, sponsored by the Nevada Center for the Book.
Carson City Library strives to provide educational, informative and entertaining events through library programming, outreach and partnership. This year, a valuable collaboration between Western Nevada College, the Bob Boldrick Theater, the Carson City Library and a coalition of diligent volunteers have teamed up to host the Carson City Film Weekend in February.
